DataLyzer® Spectrum System Solutions
Being a quality manager involves numerous responsibilities including monitoring the current quality status of all manufacturing processes; knowing the status of all associated gages, fixtures and measuring systems; implementing documentation required for audits and new product approvals in addition to quickly and decisively responding to customer concerns with analytically accurate explanations.

The DataLyzer® Spectrum suite provides facilities to address each of these requirements and more:

DataLyzer® Spectrum insures your success
DataLyzer® Spectrum is carefully structured yet remains extremely flexible, adapting to collect data from virtually any manufacturing process.

A rich variety of reports and analyses can be produced quickly with user-selectable preferences and multi-level queries for filtering data on many levels using date and time along with other user definable traceability parameters. Re-occurring batches of reports can also be set up and triggered by a timer if necessary.

DataLyzer® Spectrum provides operators and management their own respective real-time analyses and metrics to monitor production. Every process can be seen individually or as part of a system-wide summary. Process alarms include samples exceeding specifications, subgroups exceeding control limits, other out of control conditions, data collection timing violations (data not being collected when required), or Cpk/Ppk values below established benchmarks (global or characteristic specific). DataLyzer’s monitoring capabilities identify weak areas so that resources can be properly focused to address them.

Technical Support
System documentation and personal support of the DataLyzer® system can answer questions from users or walk them through solutions step by step. A web-based knowledgebase is also available 24/7 containing hundreds of application notes and white papers for the express use of DataLyzer® users. On-site training and installation services are available separately to assist users in launching the system efficiently. The DataLyzer® Spectrum system is thoroughly documented such that on-site training though readily available is not always necessary.

System Features
The DataLyzer Spectrum system can automatically send emails during data entry anytime an “alert condition” is triggered. Email recipients may include everyone on a global list or only individuals responsible for a specific chart or process. Alarms include samples exceeding specifications, subgroups exceeding control limits, other zone or pattern based out of control conditions, data collection timing violations (data not being collected when required), or Cpk/Ppk values below established benchmarks (global or characteristic specific). Local SMTP server access is required and authentication is supported.

To simplify data entry DataLyzer® includes built-in RS-232 communication drivers for direct instrument interfacing. This means there are no external drivers to buy or manage.

Operate DataLyzer® in a variety of languages to provide a common statistical platform between multiple international plants. Languages include English, Chinese, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, French, German and Chinese with others being developed regularly.

Attach work instruction documents, pictures, or even movies to each SPC chart allowing end users access to these file attachments. Many file types are supported to assist end users during data collection. Up to five attachments can be made per chart.

File structure optimization makes DataLyzer® an ideal choice for robotic or other automated data collection. DataLyzer® file structure is fully indexed for robust data collection using large databases 2+ Gigabytes. Hundreds of thousands of subgroups can be collected without significantly slowing down the system. DataLyzer® versions are available for a wide variety of database platforms including MS SQL Server, Oracle or MS Access for entry-level applications. The same user interface is used in all versions to re-training is unnecessary when upgrading to a different database platform. A convert utility accompanies each package making this task quick and easy.

Loopback communication (feedback/control) to make machine adjustments is available separately under a special registration.

Black Belt quality improvement
Historical SPC records from the DataLyzer® system provide a basis for process performance benchmarks so that subsequent improvements can be measured and locked-in with new limits. A wide array of capability statistics can be included on each report. Most statistics are user selectable, so your customers can receive the specific information they require.

Reports
Quickly produce a wide variety of reports with user selectable preferences and multi-level queries. One or more traceability parameters can be used to filter data for specific conditions in a study.

Reports can be configured with your company logo in the header and user definable titles for a more attractive personalized presentation.

Product stability
Stephen Computer Services has been providing SPC software for over 25 years. Its latest product DataLyzer® Spectrum has been in constant use for 7 years in hundreds of locations world-wide.

Updates are periodically released to add features and enhance the product’s user interface. Annual support agreements offer direct contact for assistance along with access to any new version.

DataLyzer® Network Packages
The DataLyzer® system is organized by job function. For quality managers DataLyzer® Spectrum offers easy setup, a summary view of system-wide status where problems can be easily identified and drilled to pin point problems at the process level and traceable even to individual material lots, operators or other parameter combinations. A wide variety of professionally developed reports also serve to clarify process status and/or document exceptional performance.

For data entry personnel DataLyzer® Satellite data collection stations offer local charting with real-time, on-screen, feedback to instantly advise if processes are in or out of control, out of spec. along with numerous other alert criteria which are simultaneously reported to the Quality manager. As a result of this instant system feedback operators can immediately contain problems and adjust processes, thereby saving time and money at the source.

Support other users like production supervisors, area foremen even executives with an occasional need to review quality status and print reports, can use a third type of client module called an “Executive Monitor”. This one offers a read-only, system-wide monitoring capability similar to the quality manager’s station. From these stations the entire system can be audited (or just one department) and all reports can be printed. No changes can be made to the system’s data collection assignments from stations using this type of client.
